"Oh," well, it was weirdly reassuring to see that Renakir was really serious about all of this and knew what to do. That made this... confusing, ball of emotions in Saren's mind dissipate a bit, "It's a better solution than what I suggested, I guess. I am not an expert in these things, far from it, but I hope they find you someone less... you know, inclined to say such things."
His only example by which he could judge were his parent's relationship, and that bar was very high. But this situation didn't need much thought, in Saren's opinion - all was obvious.
"You deserve better, is what I am saying. Not just because of your ancestry, but..." he gestured at Renakir, "you. And if the next whatever one is shitty I ain't holding back, you hear me?"
What was up with Saren meeting people on this station that brought up such emotions out of him? He felt a similar surge of protectiveness towards Bright, and that weird moment of understanding with the Captain, and that twinge of concern for that Bajoran weirdo, and more, much more... Saren felt like such a fraud.
"Glad you don't find it... bad or whatever," he replied, once again not voicing his concerns, "And rest... sounds good. This catastrophe of a mission brought up some not so nice memories, I would love to, hm, work on them. No murder to commit then, what a shame."
